June 17 2018 The Ruidoso Osos rallied for a 5-4 victory over the White Sands Pupfish. Ruidoso trailed 4-2 after six innings but scored three times in the seventh to take the lead and held White Sands scoreless over the final three innings. The Osos finished with six hits while the Pupfish collected eight.
White Sands scored twice in the fourth and twice more in the sixth. Greg Chavez led the Pupfish with three hits, including a double, while Clay Gentle and Timothy Carter each drove in a run. Darrell Render Jr. added two RBI, and Joshua Williams and Brandon Torres each scored once.
Ruidoso’s seventh-inning surge included home runs by Connor Arcobasso and Jose Fernandez. Arcobasso finished with one hit, one RBI and one run, while Fernandez had one hit, two RBI and one run. Nick Wagner and Brock Hartley also drove in runs for the Osos.
Colton Draney earned the win after allowing four earned runs on seven hits in seven innings, with four walks and six strikeouts. D. Reddy worked a scoreless eighth, and Matt Kerin recorded the save with a scoreless ninth. White Sands starter Darrell Render Jr. allowed two runs on three hits in five innings, but Adam Rigney took the loss after surrendering three runs in 1.1 innings.
